The Governor’s Palace features over 20,000 stones and is one of the best examples of classic Maya building. Another Puuc site, is Kabah, this site has a main temple dedicated to the “Codz Poop” (meaning rolled carpet in Maya) was considered to be the house of rain god “Chac”. Here experts found seven sculptures of Maya leaders facing east as if they were waiting for the sun to rise and give life to the planet and humanity.
