Visit one of the most important pre-Hispanic cities located just 1 hour from México City

Tours

1. Pyramids & Basilica de Guadalupe

(42 km – 45 min drive)

First you will visit the “Basilica de Guadalupe”. This modern catholic religious center was built in order to replace the Spanish construction of the 17th century. The old church still exists, but every day it sinks further into the swampy ground. The devotion to the “Virgin of Guadalupe”, is so widespread that many Mexicans refer to themselves as “Guadalupanos”. This devotion is witnessed daily, with pilgrims walking on their knees to the basilica entrance; the atmosphere of the site is unique, characterized by fervor and prayers, music and colors.

Departure to Teotihuacan: This archeological site was the most populated and dynamic city of the central valley for about 400 years AD. The Quetzalcoatl Temple, as well as the two impressive Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, are immutable witnesses of Mexico´s glorious past. At the top of the pyramids you can get a unique view that spans all the plain. On your way back to Mexico City you will try “Pulque” an ancient alcoholic drink from the cactus, as well an optional visit to an obsidian workshop.
